Launched in 2010, Land + Time + People (LTP) is aimed at partnerships with local governments in metropolitan Sydney, particularly in outer metro areas.

Local studies librarians, cultural development officers, local historical societies, community and cultural service groups and Aboriginal organisations have been approached to participate in establishing a training program that builds on participants’ skills in capturing historical stories and publishing them online in the Dictionary of Sydney.

LTP is awaiting confirmation of funding to support it, but we have engaged some enthusiastic partners in two local government areas and will start the project when funds come in. Once the pilot has been conducted, the LTP project will be available to other local government areas.

We believe that learning these new skills for writing and curating online history will be valuable to us and to our supporters, authors and enthusiasts, building capacity for years to come.
